Christ Church will soon start hosting Remade in Edinburgh sessions. Since these sessions are new, we expect what happens in them to evolve to suit the people who come. We hope to have a range of people from the neighbourhood with many different skills who are interested in re-use, and expect to focus on textiles and other things that can be treated like them. Unlike the main Friday morning sessions, we don’t promise basic tutoring, but each time, we’ll have a particular challenge on hand as a possible talking point – it could be anything from designing a knapsack out of a suit jacket to weaving a laundry bin out of waste plastic. Bring something you’re working on, or simply come as you are. And if you accidentally come on the wrong week, don’t worry – there is a knitting group (weekly from 6:30-8) that is sure to welcome you.
Venue: Christ Church Morningside, Church Centre, 6a Morningside Road.
Time: Mondays fortnightly, 7-9 pm
Start Date: 21 November 2011
Details (including the challenge for each session) can be found in the Holy Corner section of the Remade website.
